My Story ~ Reyna Osorio, D.O.

Chief Resident - 2024/2025

Reyna-14 (1).jpg

My name is Reyna Osorio and I am one of the pediatric chiefs this year!

I grew up in Springfield, VA just outside of D.C. I attended Cedarville University for college where I majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I went straight to medical school after college to Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine. In medical school I fell in love with pediatric medicine and global health and to this day love both.

Having done both medical school and clinical years in North Carolina, I knew I wanted to stay in-state for pediatric residency. I mean you can’t beat the 4 beautiful seasons or the beach and mountains. I was really excited to hear about Wake Forest and the opportunities they have to offer including advocacy, research, global health and overall recreational activities in Winston-Salem. Having been here for almost two and a half years I absolutely love the people here, residents and faculty alike. They’ve become a family away from home with all their quirks and wisdom!

In my spare time, I try to challenge my intake of caffeine by exploring new coffee shops in the area (believe me there are a lot). I also love walking and hiking trails in the area as well as attending activities our local breweries have to offer.

I am incredibly lucky to work in a hospital with such a fun group of residents, faculty/staff and patients. Yes, our pediatric patients make it so much fun and also influence my nutrition while on the wards (ice cream, popsicles, gatorade, Uncrustable sandwiches and fruit pouches).

Can’t wait to meet you all along the interview trail!
